Jesus is often portrayed as the ultimate example of being kind-hearted and soft-spoken… but He is also unafraid to speak hard words of truth in love when necessary. In this passage Jesus encounters religious leaders at a dinner and harshly criticizes them for their focus on only external religion and following man-made laws, which lead many others astray.
