Challenges & Opportunities

One of the most fascinating people in ancient Israel was Joseph, the son of Jacob.  He was a good-looking and talented man, with God-given abilities in leadership, administration, and problem-solving.  He even had the ability to interpret dreams!  His life seemed destined for nothing but success, yet he faced an ongoing series of challenges and opportunities.

The Bible relates Joseph’s experiences with an amazing directness and candor.  As we watch his life unfold, we  see deceit and treachery…loneliness and heartache…arrogance and accomplishment…and the triumph of faith throughout.  The story of Joseph reminds us that God is at work, even when life is hard.  Most importantly, Joseph demonstrates how people of faith can turn challenges into opportunities by continually learning to trust God.
