A Quick Look

Our Church Family

Garden Way is an independent, non-denominational, Bible-believing Christian church.

Eugene/Springfield is a diverse community, and that diversity is reflected in our church family.  We are a multi-generational congregation, comprised of teachers, business owners, doctors and nurses, farmers, mill workers, university students, and more.  Since GWC was founded (more than 60 years ago), we consistently have tried to be a community where Christians from different backgrounds can worship and serve freely together.

Our Beliefs

Our Motto:  “To Know Him, to Love Him, to Share Him”

This motto flows out of our core beliefs about God, and about the relationship between God and mankind.    Our beliefs fall into two broad categories: “essentials” and “non-essentials”.

The essentials are the historic truths of the Christian faith that come directly from the book we call The Bible.  The non-essentials are the variety of distinctive doctrines and practices that followers of Jesus have adopted over the years.   Based on this understanding, we are committed to:

  • Unity in the “essentials”
  • Liberty, grace, and understanding in the “non-essentials”
  • God’s love in all things

We want to be a place of truth and a place of love.  To be simple and biblical in everything we do.

We believe the Bible contains all the guidelines needed to live a life of fulfillment and integrity.  It gives us principles for dating, marriage and raising children.  For getting along at work, school and home.  For living with joy and purpose.  The Bible offers hope to those who have suffered through trauma.  Most importantly, the Bible shows us how to live each day in relationship with the God of love…and how to share His love with others.
